Northeast Ohio (NEO) Literacy Corps is an AmeriCorps*State program funded through ServeOhio that in 2012-13 supports 21 AmeriCorps Members to serve at 18 different host sites throughout the Greater Cleveland area. AmeriCorps Members will either: provide direct literacy services as tutors, workshop leaders, and teacher’s aides; or recruit, train and supervise literacy volunteers as volunteer coordinators. The Members share training as a professional learning community, complete service projects together on National Days of Service, and share knowledge and resources to engage volunteers and implement best practices in literacy.
