The Sign Up

I have recently have had the honor of signing up about seven students for the actual GED test. This has been a very rewarding experience. The smile that comes across the face and mixed with intimidation also is a sight to behold. I feel that I am part of that students history of their educational experience,as many of our students have had very poor experiences. Going to the principals office, meeting with guidance counselors is what is fresh on their minds. At times probably feeling berated by the very people they felt should have helped them succeed. It is such a privilege to be with them as they have a successful achievement in their lives. I cannot take the test for them but I can be a encouraging cheerleader for them as the take that next step in a beginning of a new era in their educational history. I always tell them this is a beginning and not an end, this opens them up to new experiences for employment, furthering their education, or becoming an entrepreneur. What a joy to see them succeed!
